STARs in Training is our program for singers who are 4 & 5 years old. This program introduces our youngest students to basic musical concepts. We focus on singing, but include movement, games and other activities to keep the students engaged.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Sing Like A STAR has been offering Group Singing lessons for over NINE years in Regina and surrounding areas.

A few years ago, we found more and more families were requesting programming for ages 4 and 5 year olds. Many young children were coming to our concerts to see their older brother or sister performing and they wanted a chance to be on stage too.

 

Our founder, Amy Nelson created this program through working with Sharon Solheim, a retired Arts Education Teacher with over 40 years teaching music to young children in the school system. Together they adapted Sing Like A STAR's Group Singing Lessons program, tailoring it for students younger students. Lessons in this program includes activities with singing, action songs, games, movement, rhythm activities and body percussion. 

Our STARs in Training program is a perfect introduction to music lessons! Participating in this program fosters a love of singing and gives our youngest students a chance to get involved in our program, prior to participating in our Regular Group Singing Lessons once they reach grade 1.

Class options:

4:30 - 5:15pm

OR

5:30 - 6:15pm

OR

6:30 - 7:15pm

September 16 - December 16, 2021

AND

January 13 - March 31, 2022

*no lessons on November 11 or February 24 due to school holidays

1:00 - 1:45pm

OR

2:00 - 2:45pm

September 12 - December 12, 2021

AND

January 9 - April 3, 2022

*no lessons on October 10 or February 20 due to school holidays

Lesson Fees:

Lesson fees for STARs in Training are $76/month

The first payment is due upon registration, followed by the first of each month from October 2021 to March 2022.
*No registration costs, hidden fees or equipment purchases necessary.

Payments can be made through Credit Card or eTransfer.

OUR RESPONSE to COVID-19:

At Sing Like A STAR, we will be continuing our new cleaning practices and sanitizing procedures this fall to ensure we are doing our part in keeping our students and staff safe.

Contingency PlanS/Updated refund policy:

We do not anticipate any further restrictions which would affect the lessons we offer in 2021. However, we have planned ahead just in case, to make sure there will be several options for our families to choose from if provincial restrictions were to change in future.

How to enrol - NEW families:

STEP 1

Please take a moment to read the IMPORTANT INFO about PAYMENT OPTIONS below...

  • the registration software our program uses requires all families to have a credit card on file in our parent portal in order to register for lessons through our program. However, lesson fees do not need to be paid through credit card. We also offer the option of eTransfers.

  • your credit card will NOT be charged automatically

  • IF you select credit card as your preferred payment method when filling out our online registration form, our administrator will process the payment on your card, through the back end of our registration software within a few business days

****there isn't a way for families to make a payment using a credit card through the parent portal. This is something that WE must do on our end

STEP 2

Click on the class you are interested in below to be directed to our online registration form where you can enrol in your first class in our program. If you would like to enrol more than one student OR would like to enrol a student for more than one class, you will have the option to do so as soon as you are past this step!

STEP 3

Once you fill out our online registration form, you will receive an automated email with a "Registration Confirmation" and a copy of all details you submitted on your registration form.

STEP 4

Two or three days before the first class takes place for any of our programs, students (and their families) will receive a "Welcome Letter" with any information needed about where to go, relevant info about where to go, important dates and etc.

How to enrol - returning Families:

STEP 1

Although your family is NOT new to our program (and we are SO glad you are back this season), we would sure appreciate it if you would take a moment to read the IMPORTANT INFO about PAYMENT OPTIONS below...

STEP 2

Click on "PARENT LOGIN", which can also be found either in the top right-hand corner of our website, or by clicking HERE.

STEP 3

Login using your email address and password (Yay! Another password to try and remember...)

*If you have forgotten your password, just click on "forgot password" and you will automatically be sent a link to re-set it.

STEP 4

Once you are logged in to the Parent Portal, you will be able to enrol your child/yourself in any class you like!

STEP 5

Once you have enroled yourself/your child in a new class, you will receive an automated email with an "Enrolment Notification" for that class.

STEP 6

Within a few business days, we will send you an email with a link to a quick online form which will ask you about your payment preferences (Credit Card/eTransfer and Full Payment/Multiple Payments, if applicable).

We know that you may have provided us with your payment preferences for previous classes, but we are trying to be careful not to make any assumptions about your preferences going forward.
