REVISED 2021 Refund Policy - ONLY for In-Person Lessons


In all “regular circumstances," Sing Like A STAR requires four weeks written notice to withdraw a student from lessons. If notice is received on a lesson day, that week will not be included in the four-week notice period. However, this last year has been nothing close to “regular” for any of us (and likely the months ahead too), so effective until June 30, 2021, if provincial restrictions change and we are unable to continue offering our lessons in person OR should a child need to stop participating in our lessons for COVID-19 related reasons, we will have many different options available for families to choose from, as described in our contingency plan (a link to read about this plan can be found below). If none of the options in our contingency plan are of interest to a particular family, we will be willing to provide a partial refund to that family, based on the number of classes remaining in the season at that time.




Cancellation Policy for both In-Person AND Online Lessons


Sing Like A STAR requires four weeks written notice to withdraw a student from lessons. This applies to both our group and private lessons. If notice is received on a lesson day, that week will not be included in the four week notice period. Credit card processing fees, equipment fess and music books or supplies (generally piano students only) are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding that enforcing this strict cancellation policy is the only way we are able to budget, pay our coaches and continue to offer music lessons.




Missed Lessons Policy for both In-Person AND Online Lessons


Sing Like A STAR is not able to provide a refund or "make up" lesson for any lesson that a student is unable to attend, for any reason. If our coach is ill or unavailable, a substitute teacher may fill in, the lesson may be rescheduled or the price of that lesson will be refunded. We appreciate your understanding that enforcing this strict missed lessons policy is the only way we are able to offer private music lessons and still be able to pay our bills each month.

Contingency Plans

We do not anticipate any further restrictions, which would affect the lessons we offer in 2021. However, there will be several options for our families to choose from, if provincial restrictions were to change and we are unable to continue offering our in-person lessons in the coming months OR should a child need to stop participating due to Covid related reasons.

Release of Liability


I give permission for my child (or myself, if this is an adult student) to attend lessons offered by Sing Like A STAR Studios. I release the Sing Like A STAR staff and owners for any liability in the event of an accident or illness during my child's time in their classes. I also release them to take appropriate action should my child need emergency medical treatment as a result of an accident or unexpected illness.




Payment Policy


By providing us with your credit card information, you are giving us permission to process payments on your card. All credit card information will be kept confidential and will only be made available to Sing Like A STAR administration when required for payment processing.

Please note: families do not have to use Credit Card to pay for their lesson fees. We usually offer the option for payment through eTransfer as well. However, if an eTransfer is not sent by the date agreed upon, Sing Like A STAR reserves the right to charge the amount owing to the credit card on file.




Photo/Video Permission


I understand that Sing Like A STAR Studios may use a photo or video taken of my child (or myself, if this is an adult student) during lessons and/or at the concert for promotional purposes, and give them permission to do so, provided that my child's name is not printed or displayed anywhere online.
