Group Singing Lessons

Our Group Singing lessons teach young singers basic vocal techniques using POPULAR music!

These lessons provide a great introduction to singing for a fraction of the cost of 1-on-1 lessons!

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Sing Like A STAR has been offering Group Singing lessons for over TEN years in Regina and surrounding areas.

We teach basic vocal techniques using POPULAR music that the kids enjoy singing!

Our group lessons provide a great introduction to singing for a fraction of the cost of private lessons!

NO AUDITIONS

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

Through our group lessons, students will learn about:

  • proper breathing for singing 

  • vowels

  • articulation

  • the difference between head voice and chest voice

  • basic music terminology

  • simple actions to go along with the songs

  • basic microphone techniques (although we are still discussing mic techniques with all of our classes, we will not be using/sharing any microphones in our weekly lessons until it is safe to do so again)

They will also:

  • have the option of singing small solos during class (only if they want to)

  • get to try singing with a microphone

  • meet new friends

  • build their confidence

  • get to participate in a virtual performance at the end of the season

Class options:

Gr 1/2 (5:00 - 5:45pm)

Gr 3/4 (5:45 - 6:45pm)

Gr 5-8 (6:45 -  7:45pm)

January 12 - March 30, 2022

*no lessons during school holidays

*concert on April 6

Lesson Fees:

Lesson fees for Gr 1/2 Group Singing from January to April are $210 (which works out to three payments of $70.00)

Lesson fees for Gr 3/4 and 5-8 Group Singing from January to April are $240 (which works out to three payments of $80.00)

The first payment is due upon registration, followed by payments on February 1 and March 1, 2022.

*No registration costs, hidden fees or equipment purchases necessary.
Payments can be made through Credit Card or eTransfer.     

    CHRISTMAS PROMOTIONS:

OUR RESPONSE to COVID-19:

At Sing Like A STAR, we will be continuing our new cleaning practices and sanitizing procedures this fall to ensure we are doing our part in keeping our students and staff safe.

Contingency PlanS/Updated refund policy:

We do not anticipate any further restrictions, which would affect the lessons we offer in 2021. However, there will be several options for our families to choose from, if provincial restrictions were to change and we are unable to continue offering our in-person lessons in the coming months OR should a child need to stop participating due to Covid related reasons.

New Families

How to enrol - NEW families:

​

STEP 1

Please take a moment to read the IMPORTANT INFO about PAYMENT OPTIONS below...

  • the registration software our program uses requires all families to have a credit card on file in our parent portal in order to register for lessons through our program. However, lesson fees do not need to be paid through credit card. We also offer the option of eTransfers.

  • your credit card will NOT be charged automatically

  • IF you select credit card as your preferred payment method when filling out our online registration form, our administrator will process the payment on your card, through the back end of our registration software within a few business days

****there isn't a way for families to make a payment using a credit card through the parent portal. This is something that WE must do on our end

STEP 2

Click on the class you are interested in below to be directed to our online registration form where you can enrol in your first class in our program. If you would like to enrol more than one student OR would like to enrol a student for more than one class, you will have the option to do so as soon as you are past this step!

WEDNESDAYS – Gr 1/2 (5:00 - 5:45pm)
WEDNESDAYS – Gr 3/4 (5:45 – 6:45pm)
WEDNESDAYS – Gr 5-8 (6:45 - 7:45pm)

STEP 3

Once you fill out our online registration form, you will receive an automated email with a "Registration Confirmation" and a copy of all details you submitted on your registration form.

STEP 4 - ONLY for Intro to Piano, Beginner Ukulele and Beginner Guitar

Prior to the first class, we will send you another email with a link to a quick additional online form, asking about any past music experiences this student has had, if they will have an instrument to practice on at home, etc.

Note: Past experience is not necessary. We are just curious! Your answers to these quick questions will help us to plan for a successful first lesson.

STEP 4

Two or three days before the first class takes place for any of our programs, students (and their famlies) will receive a "Welcome Letter" with any information needed about where to go, relevant info about our Covid 19 Precautions and Procedures, etc.

 

If you have any questions about our classes, during the registration process, or prior to receiving the "Welcome Letter" for your class, please don't hesitate to give us a call at 1-888-613-6108 OR send us a message at singlikeastar@amynelson.ca. We will get back to you as soon as we can!

Returning Families

How to enrol - returning Families:

STEP 1

Although your family is NOT new to our program (and we are SO glad you are back this season), we would sure appreciate it if you would take a moment to read the IMPORTANT INFO about PAYMENT OPTIONS below...

  • the registration software our program uses requires all families to have a credit card on file in our parent portal in order to register for lessons through our program. However, lesson fees do not need to be paid through credit card. We also offer the option of eTransfers.

  • your credit card will NOT be charged automatically

  • IF you select credit card as your preferred payment method when filling out our online registration form, our administrator will process the payment on your card, through the back end of our registration software within a few business days

STEP 2

Click on "PARENT LOGIN", which can also be found either in the top right-hand corner of our website, or by clicking HERE.

STEP 3

Login using your email address and password (Yay! Another password to try and remember...)

*If you have forgotten your password, just click on "forgot password" and you will automatically be sent a link to re-set it.

​

STEP 4

Once you are logged in to the Parent Portal, you will be able to enrol your child/yourself in any class you like!

​

STEP 5

Once you have enroled yourself/your child in a new class, you will receive an automated email with an "Enrolment Notification" for that class.

​

STEP 6

Within a few business days, we will send you an email with a link to a quick online form which will ask you about your payment preferences (Credit Card/eTransfer and Full Payment/Multiple Payments, if applicable).

​

We know that you may have provided us with your payment preferences for previous classes, but we are trying to be careful not to make any assumptions about your preferences going forward.
