Covid-19 Precautions & Distancing

Thank you for taking the time to read through the important information below. If you have any questions about the information below, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

We spent many hours (like 100+ hours, seriously), researching the best practices and procedures for offering music lessons, specifically group singing, in preparation for our safe re-opening in fall 2020. Since that time, we have continued to research, learn and adapt each week as changes to Saskatchewan's re-opening plan continued to change.

If you have any questions about the information below, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We feel strongly about keeping our students and staff safe and encourage transparent conversation with parents on this, and all subjects.

Highlights of our Safe Re-Opening Plan include:
  • our large venues with tons of space for our students to spread out

  • our expertise in safe singing practices

  • the results of the private consulting we did with a health care professional

Key Policies/Procedures for our In-Person Lessons:
  • If your child is showing any signs of illness please do not bring them to class. Within a few weeks, we will have online options for students who are sick and not able to attend lessons in person

  • When students enter the building, we will have hand sanitizer for them to use. This will also be available in all bathrooms and multiple other places throughout the venue

  • All students and coaches are required to wear a mask - during their entire lesson, as well as when entering and exiting the venue. If a student forgets to bring their mask, we will have extra disposable masks (adult and child size available)

  •  Students participating in any group programs with singing will all face in one direction and will be spaced with no less than 9ft (3 metres) around them in all directions.

  • Students in our in-person, 1-on-1 Singing Lessons and their coach will stand at least three meters away from each other, while singing during class.

  • All pianos, music stands and chairs are sanitized between each student/class

  •  We ask that students don't enter the building more than 5 minutes before their class starts

  •  We are asking that parents don't come into the venue with their child before or after class (aside from the very first class, of course) to limit the overall number of people in the venue at one time.

Exception: if your child is shy or nervous, we totally understand if you need to walk them in/out of the building. We will leave that decision in your hands, however in that case, any adult entering is required to wear a mask and use the hand sanitizer provided at the door

  • One or more of our coaches will accompany the kids when they leave the building to make sure they all find their rides safely.
